Helen has devoted her adult life to assisting the Dunkley community, particularly those people facing disadvantage and social exclusion.
Helen has a strong focus in community development and has taught Community Development, Managing Community Services and Social Policy at Chisholm Institute and Homesglen TAFE.
Helen has also represented peak bodies, participated in Parliamentary enquiries and lobbied extensively for improved and expanded services in her community. In recognition of her career in community legal centres, Helen was awarded a Centenary of Federation Medal in 2003.
Helen is an active member of the ALP and a member of the Australian Services Union. Helen was the endorsed Labor candidate for Dunkley in 2004.
