Bequests

"EMILY's List has changed the face of Australian politics by assisting and encouraging more women into parliament. Having these women at the Caucus and Cabinet decision-making tables is vital if we are to achieve equal representation and voice in our political processes.

But the fight is far from over. I urge you all to support EMILY's List in its ongoing efforts to achieve a truly equal and representative Australia."

 - JOAN KIRNER AC

Leave a legacy for the future.

Leaving a gift in your Will is an incredible act and a lasting way to support our work.

Making a bequest

You can bequest a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, a residual gift or an item. All bequests are welcome.

Suggested wording for your bequest

Your Will could include provision for EMILY's List Australia in the following way:

"I give and bequeath (state specific dollar amount or description of asset or percentage of estate) to EMILY's List Australia, 210 Lonsdale St, Melbourne,Victoria to be applied for the general purposes of enabling more progressive Labor women to enter Parliament across Australia.

I declare that a receipt by the secretary of EMILY's List Australia shall be an absolute discharge to my Trustee for the same."

Can I support a specific program?

A bequest can be directed to EMILY's List Australia or to a specific state or program.

You can amend the wording of you Will to direct your bequest to a specific State or program such as Gender Gap Research, Next Generation, Early Money or the Partnership for Equity (PEN).

We've partnered with Willed

Creating a Will has traditionally been viewed as an expensive and time-consuming pro

cess, turning millions of people off completing something so important to them and their loved ones, and enabling their passions and values to continue beyond their lifetime.

The EMILY's List Australia has partnered with ‘Willed’, an online platform that enables you to complete your legally-binding Will in a few simple steps, from the comfort of your own home.

Willed was created by lawyers and tech experts, but more importantly, real people – to simplify the process of end-of-life planning, saving you time, money and stress.

When you create your Will, you will be asked if you wish to leave a gift. Once your family and friends are cared for, you may wish to leave a percentage of your estate, or a specific nominated amount, to EMILY's List Australia.

Gifts of all sizes can make a significant difference. Making a bequest to EMILY's List Australia provides an opportunity to secure our future, and creates a lasting legacy that embodies your generosity, and values.
