EMILY's List would like to pay a very fond tribute to Mavis Robertson AM.
An EMILY’s List foundation member, Mavis remained a strong supporter of the organisation and was an enthusiastic guest at many of our events.
At our Victorian 18th Birthday celebration in December, we acknowledged Mavis' contribution to EMILY's List by awarding her the Mollie Smith award. This award is given annually to recognise exceptional volunteer service to EMILY's List.
In addition to being integral to the creation of Cbus, one of Australia's largest industry superannuation funds, Mavis dedicated herself to mentoring and supporting women employees across industry superannuation.
She was a founding member of Women in Super and the Mother's Day Classic, which has raised millions of dollars for breast cancer research.
Mavis provided EMILY's List with invaluable advice and support, including in the gaining of sponsorship and other financial income, and this was very much appreciated.
We extend our sympathy to Mavis' family and friends.
