Sook Yee Lai for Bibra Lake
Sook Yee worked as a high school teacher before transitioning to a role in the mining industry.
As a proud mum of three who took time out of the workforce to raise her young family, but is now a dedicated working mum, Sook Yee understands how cost of living pressures can impact a household.
Bringing a perspective on balancing family and career, Sook Yee is committed to advocating for our community and creating better opportunities for all.
Lorna Clarke for Butler
Lorna Clarke is WA Labor’s Candidate for Butler.
Like many in Perth’s northern suburbs, Lorna was born in the United Kingdom.
She is a lawyer with experience in commercial, energy and administrative law and is currently a Lecturer at Curtin University.
She holds a Master of Laws from the Australian National University and a Master of Science in Regulation from the London School of Economics.
Lorna is also a Local Government Councillor and a mum to a toddler.
Karen Beale for Kalamunda
Karen is a fourth generation Hills local, and it’s where she raised her three children.
She attended Eastern Hills high school, ran the bushfire recovery program at Mundaring Community Bank and is a Local Councillor at the Shire of Mundaring.
She is the Chair of the Swan View High School Board and was formerly the Vice President of the Mundaring Chamber of Commerce and has served on the board of the Rotary Club of Mundaring.
Karen has worked at the local community bank and now runs her own bookkeeping small business.
Michelle Maynard for Swan Hills
Michelle is the proud owner of a small business in Ellenbrook where she works as a Chartered Accountant.
Michelle is a committed community volunteer, helping local organisations to manage their finances as Treasurer of the Swan Chamber of Commerce, Ellenbrook Community Collective and the Ellenbrook Dockers Junior Football Club.
As a Mum of two kids, Michelle understands how cost-of-living pressures impact a household, and as part of the Roger Cook Labor team, will ensure cost-of-living relief for WA households is her number one priority.
Michelle will be a strong voice for the Swan Hills community in the Roger Cook Labor Government Team.
